JMI going digital: receiving higher number of applications through Online portals

Admission process is the most challenging and stressful thing in the educational ecosystem not for the parents but for the staff too. But with the advent of robust technology, huge swathes of experience has become digital. We witnessed this digital sways this year with the Jamia Millia Islamia University. Jamia Millia Islamia received an impressive number of applications through an online portal for admission in various classes of its school. Around, a total of 40,437 no. of applications has been received for admission in different school programmes.

For the first time in history, the applications for admission for class Prep, Nursery and Class 1st were invited through an online portal.

Online applications for admission in Jamia School for Class Prep, Nursery, Class I and VI, IX, XI(Arts, Commerce, Science) were invited for the session 2019-20. Form submission was opened for 10 March 2019 and was open for editing till 14th March 2019. The form was designed and opened by the Office of Controller of Examinations, JMI.

A number of applications received for Prep are 1163, for Nursery 2122 and for class 1st is 2019, which is recorded for these school programmes. The number of applications received for admission in Class VI is 5262, for Class IX is 10075, class XI- Sc:14274, XI- Arts: 2814 and for XI Commerce is: 2708.

JMI School has Draw of lots (DOL) process for admission in Prep, Nursery and Class I. However admission test will be conducted for class VI, IX and XI from 16 May to 18 May in JMI campus and in Delhi only.

A help desk was created at the office of COE-JMI to assist candidates and address their grievances for filling online admission type. the overall response from the candidates to apply for admission at school programmes is the indication of high demand.

Meanwhile, Jamia Milia Islamia is open for its Undergraduate and post-graduate courses. admission in numerous faculty programmes.
